WHO WAS HIS FATHER? LONDON, January 25. Seven-year-old Joe Meades, whoso paternity was disputed in tbo Divorce Court, was produced as an exhibit in the case. lie did not say a word, bat looked at the judge and counsel. Ho loft in less than a minute. The wife’s counsel (hen pointed out (hat doubt as to the child’s father opened a senous chapter in little Joe’s life. The husband’s counsel replied that he had demanded the production of the boy cn his client’s instructions, but having seen the boy he withdrew the suggestion of doubt as to tho paternity on bis own responsibility. Mr Justice Hill interposed by saying: “Quite apart Loin the question of identification, I had intended to find in the child’s favour.” The judge and counsel all called the child “Joe. ’ Tho judge’s greeting was: “Hollo, Joe! Look at mo; see tho absurd wig on my head!”
