ENGLISH TEAM TO TOUR DOMINION IN 4924.

WELLINGTON, April 29. Hie New Zealand Rugby Union formally resolved to invite an English team to tour the dominion in 1924, and not to send any New Zealand team abroad until 1925 at the earliest.

It was decided to recommend setting apart one Saturday this season by every union as a Charity Saturday. 'At the request of Mr C’lutha N. Mackenzie, _ M.P.. a portion of tho proceeds will be devoted to the Pearson Fund for the blind.

An offer by the Dominion Sportsmen’s Association to present 10 shields for competition among primary schools was declined with thanks.

Tlie opening games in Wellington will be played under the old rules. Tho_ question of adopting amended rules will bej discussed later on.
