FIRE AT HASTINGS
(Peb United Pbesb Association.) HASTINGS. April 29. Early this mornintr n fire broke out m James M’Laughlin s fruit shop, m I}® 1- *!' taunga street. It was completely guned. and the fire spread through the ceilings to Joseph’s restaurant on the one amo and to Dunkley’s tailor shop on the otnei. The restaurant and its contents were practically destroyed, and Dunkley’s shop was badly damaged, and the stocks ruined. The insurances are: —M’Laughlin, ' in tho Australian .Alliance; Dunkloys £6OO in tho British Traders; Josephs £325 in the Yorkshire. C. Hughes, the on tier of the buildings, is covered by the Guardian Office, but the amount is not ascertainable. Furniture properties, etc., assured against fire by 11, W.
