WAIKOUAITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The monthly meeting of the Waikwtaiti i Borough Council was held on Monday evening. Present—The Mayor (Mr G. J. L. Kerr), Crs Davis, Smith, Alfcock, Hollett, Thompson, and White. The correspondence included a letter from the Medical Officer of Health, arising tor particulars respecting the disposal of rub- 1 bdah. The letter was received, the particulars having been forwarded-. . The dayman’s report was - received and. approved. . . ] The ranger reported having got judg* ment against a few offenders, the oostr, going to the court and the fines »to the - Borough Account. _ A resolution waa passed imposing a penalty of 10 per cent, on rates for current i year unpaid on February 28. , At a special meeting of the council it j was agreed, on the motion of Or Davis, j secobded by Or Smith, that_ Wednesday be ] selected as the day on which the weekly , half-holiday shall be observed in the; borough.
