GENERAL NEWS
The monthly meeting of the Roslyn and Kaikorai Flower Show Committee was held on Saturday evening; present—'Messrs J. Torrance, J. Matheson, ,J. Hood, J, .-Todd, and Misses Ross and Christie and Mrs Hutchison. It was agreed to ask Miss Roes and Mrs Walsh, of Colnmba CbUege, to judge the cooking and sweets section, ana Mr T. Harrison the school wwrk. The ladies submitted a schedule for the industrial section of home and _ school work, which was adopted. Competition in all sections of the show is to he open to past and present scholars of the district schools and to all-comers. Special offers were received for donations to the prize fund. Mir Hood intimated that Mr Hollingsworth was prepared to give a lecture on hwtionlttne at a. date no .be arranged in February.
