A gigantic waep neot (which" has now 'been added to the national collection at the Natural History Museum in London) was built in an annex of the Richmond Golf ■ Club house-—once the mansion of the late Duko of Argyll. The queen wasp must have crawled through a crack in a window and started work on a bundle of rod curtains and cushions. She was responsible for a family of about 20,000 wasps, who built this great city, and the entire colony died out without being discovered until the winter.
