The Marshal of the Diet said that Poland was endeavouring to settle the frontier • in the mutual interests of Russia and Poland. The conditions were not dependent on the military situation. Poland was not taking advantage of the last conquest, and did not impose on Russia a peace at variance with justice. Lithuania, at the instance of the League of Nations' Commission to decide the control of Suwalki, sent its League representative and staff to Warsaw to negotiate with Poland. (Received Oct. 25, at 0.10 a.m.) Information has been received in official circles indicating that the Bolshevists are transferring some of their best troops from the Polish front to South Russia for a new offensive against General Wrangel, in an effort to exterminate his forces.
