A sale of Westport Coals at £1 lls 2d took place on tho Stock Exchange yesterday. Bank of New Zeulmids (tuily paid) were sought at £17 16s, wiiile the £3 6a 8d paid issuo liad buyers at £12 17s 6d, but no seilers quoted in either case. P. and O. deferred stocks were quoted at £408 10s and £413, buyer and seller respectively; while Huddart-Parker (ord.) were on the market at £1 18s 3d without a buyer, and tlie preference issue was sought at £1 0s 10d, but in this case ,no seller came forward. Buyers offered 3s 3d for New Zealand Coal and Oils, which show a strong firming tendency; while buyers were prepared to give £2 Is 3d for Goldsbrough, j Morts., but sellers hold out of £2 3s 6d.
