AMUSEMENTS.
The principal film at present being screened at the Queen's Theatre is entitled "Under False Colours," in which Frederick Ward© takes tho principal rolo. This film is attracting big houses, while a further episode of tho serial picture-story, "The Mystery of tho Double Cross," tends more to mystify than enlighten an audience.
A nicely selected programme of pictures is being shown at tho Plaza Theatre. "The Song of Hate," a dramatic story taken from "La Tosca," is the leading feature, and another excellent fllm is "The Book Agent," with George Walsh in the leading character. .' The chief attraction at Everybody's Theatre just now is->the acting of Kitty Gordon in "The Purple Lily." This captivating photo-play is supported by the 11th chapter of "The Lass of the Lumbcrlands," an amusing Keystone comedy, and a Topical Budgqt of more than usual interest. "The Man from Painted Post," with Douglas Fairbanks filling the part of an heroic figure, is the leading picture at the Empire Theatre. The story has to do with life in the American West, and is full of stirring incident. Chapter 15 of the. serial "The Great Secret" is no whit less exciting than the previous chapters, and a Burton Holmes's travelogue ie also a fine feature.
