GENERAL NEWS
The annual meeting of the Roslyn Institute Library was held on Friday. Mr James Armstrong (president) occupied tho chair. Tho report and balance sheet were approved. The report showed that the library had had a fairly successful year. The number of subscribers had dropped to 43. The chairman expressed pleasure at the financial position. He stressed the point that the library would ultimately be handed over to the 'city, to form the nucleus of a branch library from the oi'ty. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year: —President, Mr James Armstrong; vice-preaident, Mr David Scott; treasurer, Mr A. N. Ross; secretary and librarian, Mr G A. Scott; Messrs Murison, Alexander, Webb, Greenfield, Clark, Lewis, and Long.
