PLAZA THEATRE
"The Whip," a famous Drury Lane production, makes a capital moving picture, with its hunting scenes, its thrilling motor smash, and its great train wreck. The stage version was acclaimed as a masterpiece when it was presented in London, and tho picture version is certainly a won-der-film, and loses very little of the excitement and motion of the original play. As a spectacle the picture is among the most realistio ever screened here. Close on 8000 ft of film, crowded with incident, are required to tell the story. The hunting scenes, which are actual photographs of a well-known Home pack, are in full harmony ,with the rest of the film, and the racecourse scenes, with their animated and well-dressed crowds, are also very characteristic and true to type in matters of detaiL The story deals with an attempt to wreck a vehicle in which "The Whip" is being convoyed to tho racecourse. The attempt is frustrated, and the horse eventually wins his race, enabling the hero to retrieve his fortune and also secure a wife. The latest Gaumont Graphic and a good comedy are also on the programme.
