GISBORNE FARMERS' MEETING. (Peb United Press Association.! GISBORNE, June 24, A large meeting of termers on Saturday considered the meat and shipping problems, and a number of resolutions for despatch to the Government \tcte carried unanimously. It was proposed that new committees be formed here and in England to control shipping and allot space; that ships trading to New Zealand be declared common carriers and come under the Commercial Trusts Act; that the sale and distribution of surplus colonial meat would have to be through a new committee or an individual answerable to the Imperial Government, and not associated with any firm engaged in the sale of meat; that the Government action in the matter of the new shipping regulations be approved. Mr Lysnar, in the course of his remarks, criticised Mr H. Boauchamp's statements at the Bank of Now Zealand meeting. He declared that, despito submarinings, Australasia, according to the Board of Trade return, had as much insulated tonnage as in pre-war times owing to the handing over of interned vessels and new vessels.
