INCITING A SEDITIOUS STRIKE
CHARGE AGAINST COLEMAN,
In the City Police Court yesterday, Alfred William Goloman was charged that, on April 16, at Fairficld, ho did incite a seditious strike, contrary to the War Regulations made this year.—Accused pleaded not guilty. Chief Detective Bishop applied for a remand until Monday. Accused: I don't understand court procedure, and I would like you to explain it to mo. •
The Magistrate (Mr H. A. Young, S.M.): The chief detective asks that the case be adjourned till Monday. Accused: I prefer to have it heard this morning. Chief Detective Bishop: Accused was arrested only last night, and it is essential that we should have a remand. Accused: I can't understand the chief detective asking for a remand. Haven't I a right to have it this morning? Tho Magistrate: No. The remand is granted.
