Speaking at the Royal National Eisteddfod, the great Welsh annual musical festival Mr Lloyd Georgo laid he recognised that the ev,3nt was not an ordirary amusement, and strongly advocated tho holding of such' gatherings in war time. Tho men in tho fighting lino want to know that wo aro doing our. best to keep alivo the educational literary, musical, and religious institutions for them when they return. They want a bright atmosphere <ind vrolcomo "when, tlioy come hack. It is with this spirit that tho lJunedm Choral Socicty is justifying its continuanco in war time, and looks for tho public support. Xt is not nu amusement society. It sceks_ by music to inspire, uplift, and educate its members and audiences The programmo fo r tho concert in His Majesty s Theatre on Tuesday, 24t.h insfc., is of that high order for which the society has established itself in tho confidence and favour of tho Dunedin musical public.
