SUBSTANTIAL FINES IMPOSED. fPEII Uhitbd Pnass Absociattoh.l WHANGAREI, Marcli 27. .Mr Burton, S.M., gave his reserved judgment to-day in a number of anti-treatii°g cases heard at Whangarei a fortnight ago° Fernand Felix (licensee of tho Kauio Hotel) on two charges, was fined respectively £50 and £25. Four others in the same connection, named Thomas M'Grevv, William Lilley, Ellis Dyer, and Everard' Lambert were each fined £30. Costs were allowed against the defendants in all tho eases. The charges against a group of three others —William Simons (manager of the Whangarei Hotel), Leonard Irving, and Christopher Irving—were dismissed.
