ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

A FIREMAN MISSING. (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON) September 27. A fireman named Kuward Espada, be» longing to the troopship Maunganui, has been missing since ; Wednesday, when he was seen sitting- on a pile ot the King's wharf, apparently dozing. The police ■' dragged the vicinity to-day, but no body was found. BODY FOUND AT MAUNGATUA. The body of a man, which has not so fax been identified, was found in the bush at Maungatua on Saturday evening. A bottle of lyeol was found .in the coat pocket, and the body appeared to have lam where it was for some time. It is thought that the deceased is a Norwegian who had been seen about the district on a number of occasions some few weeks ago. The constable at Outram was informed of the disoovery, and an inquest will be held' on .Tuesday morning. About 12.20 on Saturday a young- man named W. J. M'Farlane met with a serious accident in South Ihinedin. As he was riding homo on a motor cycle along King Edward street he collided with ariother motor cyclist named James Walquist, who had just turned into King Edward street from Maoandrew street A horse and trap happened' to be .passing at the time, and M'Farlane was thrown under the wheel and was viciously kicked on the head by the • horse. Dr Lindon was sent for, and he - ordered the young man; who was also suffering from shock, to be removed to the Chalet Hospital. Walquist' escaped with a few bruises.
