Wintry conditions, with heavy showere of sleet, rain, and hail and snow were experienced in Dunedin on Friday night, and all day ,on Saturday. The sleet and snow was particularly heavy at about 10 p.m., and a strong southerly wind prevailed. Snow fell on the neighbouring hills and inland. Yesterday broke clear and fine, and the snow-covered hills bounding the city looked pretty under the rays of the sun. The rain amd snow will do a great deal of good to the country. The rainfall registered this morning foe the 24 hours was 36 points, and 39 points were recorded for the day before. After a spell of fine spring weather tho conditions now are wintry.
