NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS
ANNUAL MEETING OF THE CLUB,
The annual meeting of the Dunedin Noncommissioned Officers' Club was held in the Club-room last evening. About a dozen members were present.
Colour-sergeant Walker occupied the chair, and remarked at the outset that the affairs of the club had been carried on rather unsatisfactorily of late . Several attempts had been made to hold •the annual meeting, but tho arrangements had fallen through because they had been unable to get their annual report and balance-sheet ready to lay before members. A meeting was called for Friday week, and a few attended but the only business transacted was a resolution to meet a week later ■ and appoint officers for the ensuing year, whether the secretary attended or not. Matters were still in the same position, and it rested with the members to say what should be done.
Colour-sergeant Frascr commented upon tho falling off in attendance at meetings, and moved that office-bearers bo appointed for the ensuing year.
Sergeant Montgomery (Port Chalmers) said he thought the meeting should bo again adjourned in order » have the report and balance sheet to place before members before proceeding further. He moved as an amendment that a committee of three be appointed' to go into the matter and to report to next meeting. > The amendment was seconded by a member, who said ho believed that there was a debit of £16 as a result of entertaining men from tho warship New Zealand, and it would be wiser for members to know their liabilities before proceeding further. 'The amendment was carried, and Messrs Walker, Frascr, and Rose were appointed to deal with the matter and report at next meeting.,
