SYMPATHY FOR Mil SIMPSON. (Pbb United Pbess Association) ' ■ WESTPORT, -July 22. The residents, of Seddonville at a public meeting carried a resolution sympathising with Mr W. 1!. Simpson over the attack made on him in Parliament, and expressed their confidence in him' as a member of the Buller County Council and the Westport Harbour Board. At a meeting of thq, latter body tho following resolution was also carried: "That the members of this board has- a high opinion of Mr Simpson's personal qualities, and after sitting with him for some six meetings they have formed a most favourable opinion of his abilities as a publin man, and regret that any occasion has arisen whereby he has to suffer in his effort to render such public service as he is capable of."
