Mr Do Spong has been appointed adjudicator in the elocutionarv classes at the Palmewton North Competitions, to be hold in September next. Mr D. Campbell, on leavinß the employ of tho Otago Daily Times Company to prooocd to Auckland, was presented with a framed photo of. the pubWiinc staff as a mark of esteem and goodfellowship. Sergeant Tajjer, who has been stationed at Palmerf'ton for a considerable period, has been transferred to Wellington. He is to bo succeeded by Constable Pardv, of Timaru. Sergeant M'Kenzic. who has been stationed at Ix>wcr Hutt for some time, has been transferred to tho Dunedin Central Station and ia expected to arrive here in the courso of a fow days. He ha 6 received congratulatory messages from t'he Bench and Bar in tho district he ha? been in eharpe of on his promotion, and expressions of appreciation of his services have been made to him by representatives of, the Lower Hutt community.
