CIIUISTCHUKCH, September 6. Tho Supremo. Court to-day is engaged in hearing legal argument in the case of tho Olirbtcliuich City Council v. Canterbury i.'.'ollccc Board of liovernors wherein a declaratory judgment is sought concerning t,hn interpretation of certain provincial ordinance*. The question at issno is the right of tho Canterbury Public Library lo share revenues from endowments made 40 years ago for the Museum Library. Tho Technical Science (Jollopo Board, which control*! tho library, admits the responsibility for Iho maii'.tonaneo of a public 'library, and lias supported the present library out of tho endowments for over 30 years, but contends thai it has power to establish another public library under the ordinances.
