At Iho Magistrate's Court to-day, Martin, liccnsooof tho Awahuri Hotel, was protootled against for employing an unlicensed barmaid, lie pleaded guilty to a technical breach, and said that his wifewas ill, and his barmaid had left. Two ladies were engaged, one of whom wag a widow and the other married. Both were about 50 years' old. Both were in the bar, but only ono was serving. The. magistrate inflicted a fine of 40s for tho ono who served and 30s for tho other.
