ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Pr.R TJIIITKD I'RT.SS ASSOCIATION.) HOKITIKA, December 7. A man named Herbert Jolly, 27 years of age, who was injured in a wrestling bout about a fortnight a.go, succumbed to his injuries to-day. The injury was caused by a pipe-stem entering his "eye, in which it was embedded an inch and a-half. The unfortunate man had the obstacle vemovjd the following day, but it was afterwards found necessary to remove the optic. Subsequently, brain troubles supervened, causing liis death. Two other men are connected with the affair. OAMARU. December 7. A young man named Charles Moss, a plumber, mat with a serious accident today, at .the Wailaki Bovb' High School. by an explosion of acetylene "gas. The room in width he was working was great 1 damaged, and Moss suffered a fracture r>f the skull. He was taken to the hospital and operated upon, and is now progressing favourably,
