TAIERI DRAINAGE SCHEME.
DEPUTATION AT WELLINGTON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, December 7. Mr Allan, Mr Donald Reid, and other Taieri ratcpapers have come to Wellington to give evidence regarding the report of the Government Commissioner on the Taieri drainage scheme. They wish the East Taieri cut out of the drainage district. Messrs D. T. Shaml, Gibson, J. MacGregor (solicitor), and Elliott (engineer), representing the Drainage Board, are also in Wellington in connection with the matter. Owing to the fact that a caucus of the Government party was being held this morning, there was no sitting of the Lands Committee to-day, but it is hoped the committee may be able to deal with tho matter to-morrow morning.
