AMICABLE SETTLEMENT EXPECTED. (Fnou OtJK Owk ConitEsroSDEXT.) GREYMOUTH, November 19. , 'Bo- far there is nothing new to report regarding the mine difficulty. The management and the men had a conference to-divy. The miners"executive meets tonight to discuss matters. Mr Semple states that there is every possibility of an amicable settlement. Rumours are freely in circulation that the State miners are contemplating ceasmg Work unless the manager accedes to their requests.
A representative of the Argus 'inter-viewed-Mr Bishop, manager, this evening,, and he states that there is no foundation for such rumours. He is still in conference with tlio men, and is hopeful of an amicable settlement being arrived at on Monday or Tuesday.
