DISQUIETING RUMOURS. (Pur Ukwed I'bess Association.) GREYMOUTH, November 18. There are persistent rumours that trouble is imminent in the Mate collieries, and a well-informed authority informs the Argus representative that he will be surprised if the men go to work on Monday. There ie, he states, every prospect of a strike, and the miners have decided to have no more conferences with the manager. (Fiio.M Ouji Own Correspondent) tIREYMOUTH, Novembr 18. So far there is nothing new to report in connection with' the mine difficulty. A conference between the men and tho manager took place yesterday, without anything definite being arrived at, hut word is expected to-day from the management jus to what they intend to do. Xo doubt the difficulty has been referred to Wellington. The tone amongst the residents does not appear too hopeful. QUESTION IN NEW SOUTH WALES ASSEMBLY.
