ODDFELLOWSHIP.
About 100 members and friends o£ Unity Lodge, No. 16, 1.0.0. F., responded to an invitation to attend a meeting on Tuesday evening, to consider the proposal to hold a bazaar and art union in. connection with the opening of the now lodge room. The site tor this building has been oleared, and timber is now on the ground, at the corner of King Edward 6trect and Wilkio road, Kensington. Tlio Secretory (13ro. Hinton), in moving that a bazaar and art union bejield, sketched briefly the history of tho. lodge for the last 12 months, and the causes which had led up to tlio division to build 'a hall of ita own. The lodgo now had well over 300 members, and as the only hall available for lodgo purposes in tho 'district possessed nono of the conveniences necessary, the lodge was practically forced to cater for its own requirements and those of other growing and progressive ' societies in South Dimodin. Stimulated by' the enthusiasm of the CaverBnatn Oddfellow, whose effort had recently resulted in the raising of over £400, the Building Committee appealed for the support of the members in making a similar effort. The result of their appeal was sufficiently encouraging, and the motion was carried with enthusiasm. N.G. Bro. Austin was appointed chairman, Bro. J. H. Hinton secretary, with Bros, T. E. Rosevear and H. Lusrombe as assistants. The ladies present formed themselves into a
committee, and appointed Mrs Luscombo president, Mrs Johnston vicc-prcsidcnt, and Miss M'Farlane secretary. Various sub- o committees were then set up, caeli meeting a afterwards, and all preliminaries arranged, ii Tho hall is to be finished by the middle of November, and tho bazaar will bo held during show week. t ======= l
