DEATH OF THE HON. WALTER JOHNSTON.

'From Oor Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, September 1, ' • The Hon. Walter Johnston died at his residence in Wellington on Saturday afternoon after a very brief illness. . He was attacked by influenza and bronchitis, which developed iiito bronchial, plieuiiionia on Friday. Three doctors wbro in attendance lnm all Friday night. Yesterday morning he rallied somewhat, but the rally was followed by a relapse, and ho passed away yesterday afternoon, ' . -
