(Prn UfiiTiiD Phms Asflocuftofc.).., ELTftASI, August M. The inquest into tho death of a two and a-half year-old child nained Martin, who died after eating German sausage, was resumed to-day. A report from tho Government analyst stated that he found no trace of ptomaines or irritant poisons in llio stomach or sausage, and a guinea-pig which was made to eat the sausage showed no illeffects. • The inflammation in tho liloliiach might be due lo seasoning from the sausage. He thought, that death might I>e duo to aeule indigestion. - Medical evidence bore this out, and a verdict was returned accordingly.
CHRISTOFIURCH, August 31. Ah inquest was held to-day on the lrcdy of William Hcnrv Thbr'nCj who had been found in the Heathcote River yesterday. An open S'erdict of "Found drowned" was returned. The deceased was a married man with five children, and was 62 years of age.
