The Empire Box-making Company's factory, which was destroyed by fire Inst niff ht, was insured for £850 in the United officio, and the stock for £4075, a* follows: £1600 in the State office, £875 in the Royal Exchange. £1000 in the Now Zealand, and £700 in the United.
A firo broke out in a dust-heap at the rear of Messrs D. Benjamin' and Co.'s promises _at Mnoandrew street about 7.30 last evenintr. The, police on beiner informed of tho outbreak, sent a constable to investigate. He enlisted the eervices of some passers-by. and, wit-h a fire-hose, promptly extinguished the flames.
