DUNEDIN HARRIERS.
The eight, annual meeting of the Dunedin Harriers was held in tho Palace Tea. Rooms oa Thursday evening. In the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr ]). Melville (captain) was voted to the chair, and there were about 30 members present. Several apologies for absence were received. The Chairman, in moving the adoption cf the report and statement of receipts and expenditure (previously published) for the past season, congratulated the club on its continued prosperity, and voiced the opinion that the past season had provided good sport and entertainment for the members. No complaints had been received of . any damage having been done to fences, etc., during the runs of the several clubs now in Dunedin, which spoko very well for the carefulness of harriers. Ho congratulated the club on again winning the Interclnb Teams' Race, and was pleased to see that two of tho members (Messrs Uurk and Murray) had done well in the late championships held at Christchurch. He was also pleased to see that the harrier movement was spreading, and welcomed the formation of several new clubs in Otago, and, in tbo club's name, wished them every success. 'Mr R. J. Jackson, iu seconding the motion, said ho w«s pleased to seo snch a good attendance of members. It showed that they were enthusiastic, which spoke well for the incoming seaaon. Tho motion was carried. The following office-bearers were elected: — President, Mr J. Glendining; vice-presi-dents—Messrs A. Leo Smith, 3. Jeffreys, W. F. Edmond, and Dr W. S. Roberts; captain, Mr F. Mace; deputy-captain, Mr R. C. Moore; lion, secretary, Mr P. J. Israel; assistant secretary, Mr N. Anderson; hou. treasurer, Mr A. Cannon; committee —Messrs A. E. Bonnin, F. Morrison, A. T. M'lndoe. D. Melville, J. Foley, P. S. Romeril; lion, ltandicapper, Mr A. T. Murray; timekeeper, 'Mr W. J. Burk; lion, auditors—Messrs H. C. Murray, and R. J. Jackson; club trustees—Messrs V. F. Edmond, J. A, Stables, and R. J. Jackson. Mr Cannon moved, and Mr Mooro seconded—" That a vote of thanks be accorded to tho retiring secretary (Mr Bonnin) for Jiis work as secretary for two years, the same to be written in tho minutes of tho club.— This was carried with applause. ' Mr VT. T. Edmond wrote offering the club а, challenge cup for competition, with conditions attached, and it was resolved that tho cup be acceptcd, and that Mr Edmonds be accorded tho thanks of tho members for his handsome and generous gift. Several new members were elected. It was resolved to open the season on April б. Votes of thanks to the press and the chairman concluded tho meeting.
