CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of tlio Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard was held yesterday afternoon. There were present—Messrs W. Wills (in (.he clmir), T. Mackenzie, M.H.R., .t. Mill, P. Miller, F. Anderson, J. 'Moslcy, R .Johnstpne, W. E. S. Knight, M. Stevenson. — Wilkinson, and Dr B.itchelor
Tho monthly requisition of £600 to tho Benevolent Trustees was approved.—Mv Stevenson urged the importance of the establishment of a ln'minec Committee.
FORTH STREET MATERNITY HOME.
A telegram - was received from tho Hon. U. 1 Fowhls re tho furnishing ol tho Foilh' Street Maternity Home. The payment could not bo made <lircet to tho board unk® tho board first paid the claim and then applied for a refund. The board should send in Ihe accounts to tho department, made _ out on Government vouchor forms, for tiirjiishing and equipping the homo (including a voucher in favour of tho contractor for £192 Is 6d, part of the contract), and payment up to £500, the amount of the vote would then bo made direct to the claimants. Each voucher must boar ;i certificate by the chairman of tho board that the goods had been duly supplied.—lt was resolved that the accounts bo paid and a claim bo made on tho Government- for the same.—Messrs Stevenson and Mosiey protested against this coursc. lIOSriTAI; BOARD. The Hospital Board, which sat imniediately after the conclusion of the Charity able Aid Board's meeting, approved of ,a. requisition of £665 13s 4d for the Hospital Trustees, and of a vote of, £500 for, tho electric lighting of a now wing.
