THE SPANISH THRONE.
PRINCESS ENA'S "CONVERSION." Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 13. (Received Feb. 14, at 9.20 a.m.) The Bishop of London (Dr Ingram), in a letter to The Times, says that the responsible Church authorities have made an urgent private remonstrance against the Princess Ena's compulsory conversion to Roman Catholicism in order to satisfy the legal requirements of her engagement to King Alfonso. February 14. (Received Feb. 14, at 11.53 p.m.) The Rev. Father* Vaughau, in a letter to The Times, states that if Princess Ena's conviction after inquiring int-o the claims of the Catholic Church was that she should remain a Protestant she should have stated so before she contemplated the alliance. Dr Ingram does not need to fear that a conversiop by order can be effected from the Catholic side.
