GORE, February 15. The Gore Trotting Club had to contend with cold and wintry weather for their annual mooliug, but, nevertheless, there was a fair attendance. The sport -was fairly interesting, but" some reversals of form were witnessed during the day. Big dividends were the order of the day. The stewards held on inquiry after Not Yet's win .in the Harvest' Handicap, and accepted the owner's explanation as to the horse's previous running. Not Yet did not get placed in his first race, but, with a change of riders, be acted differently, albeit it took a bit of good horsemanship to make him beat J.C. Lightthorn also showed considerably improved form in the District Handicap as compared with his previous displays, but the stewards, after discussing the matter, allowed tho judge's placing to remain unaltered. In the last race of the day Two-up was penalised ssec behind scratch, making it a 20sec limit event, r/hereas the conditions on the programme stated that it was to be a 15sec limit event. The owner oi Two-up objected to the penalty, but the stewards allowed tho liandicapper's penalty to stand. During tho day the sum of £1581 was piit through the machine, as against last year's total of £9SS. Last year the fixture was a two days' meeting, and over £30 was received in bookmakers' fees.
