OTAGO CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting of the above association was held last evening, when there were present Messrs 1,. C. Gooch (chairman), A. C. I-lanlon, C. W. Rattray, W. 11. Switch, W. Maclean, J. L. Jamieson, A. Al'Loan, J, J. Clark, F. H. Campbell, and Ji. S. AVils-on (lioti. see.) An apology was received from Mr O. K. Smith.
Mr W. Maclean reported that the subcommittee had arranged for the croction of a stand for £corcj*s and press. It v/as rojioriod that the telephone would be connected with the ground Lefore the Australian match.
On tho motion of Mr "W. H. Skitch seconded by Mr A. M'Lcan, it was decided to play 11 flavors against tho Australians. lh(j appointment of umpires and scorers was left over till a future meeting. Numerous details in connection with the visit of tho Australians 'were arranged.
UMPIRES' ASSOCIATION. Tho usual weekly meeting of the above \ras held in Messrs Gnico and Wilson's office last evening; present—Messrs It. Tay-lor-(chairman), J. West, D. Smythe, o'. k Briggs, A. Hunter, and R. F. Foster, jun. (lion. sea). Mr 11. H. S. White .wrote resigning . his membership of the association and his position as secretary. It was resolved that the resignation 1)0 accepted with regret, and that Mr White bo thanked for Ids past valuable services. Mr It. F. Foster, jun,, was appointed secretary of tho association. The. following umpires were appointed for Saturday's grade matches:— First Grade.—Dunedin v. Grange, Messrs Austin and R. Taylor; Carisbrook A v. Carisbrook B, Messrs Foster, jun., and Smythe; Opoho v. Albion, Messrs East and Cooper. Second Grade.—Albion v. Dunedin No. 1, Messrs Spence and Ferguson; Port Chalmers v. Grange, Messrs West and Ficldcn; Carisbrook D v. Dunedin No. 2, Messrs Cavanagh and Morris;' Roslyn v. Opoho, Messrs Prain and A. T. White. Third Grade.—Carisbrook E v. Dunedin No. 1, Messrs Hunter and Hopo; Mdmington v. High School, Messrs -Foster, sen., and M'Croric. The match Wardell Bros. v. Eangers resulted ill a will for Rangers by ono wicket and 61 runs. Scoros: IVnrdej.l Bros., 56; Rangers, 117 for nino wiokots; For Warclell Bros. Shiels (33) was the onlr batsman to reach double figures, For the Rangers «T. Sligo (32). Ocg (23), Smith (21). Sutherland (10), and Hilliker (10) reached double figuros. The bowling honours were shared by Payne, Dreaver, and Rest for Wardell Bros., and for the Rangere M'lTutchon, O'Donnell, and Sutherland obtained wickets. The unfinished Second Grade match Dunedin No. 1 v. Dunedin No. 2 will be continued on the Caledonian Ground to-, nieht at 5.30 o'clock sharp. Williams heing unable (o play for Wellington against the Australians, Barton replaces him, and Mahoney will keep wickets.
