D..J.C. GUP MEETING
Ilia Excellency the. Governor and Lady. Phinket and Lady Kathleen Plunkct have accepted the Dunedin Jockey Club's invitation to attend'the Clip meeting on Wednesday next, 22nd iust. The Eight Hon. tlio Premier, Sir J. G. Ward) and oilier Ministers have also intimated their intention of being present. Cup Day has been declared a half-holiday by his .Worship .the' Mayor, and as it is also the recognised half-holiday by all retailers, the club should be rewarded with a very large attendance, and one qj the most successful meetings yet held at Wingatui. A very large number of visiting horses will be racing, and this creates much more interest and speculation in the meeting. Acceptances are due on Friday.
