CRIMINAL SITTINGS.

(Per United Press Association.) NAPIER, February 14. Edear Moody, found guilty of criminal assault at Dannevirke, was remanded for scntonco.

CiTRISTCHURCH, February 14. At > the Supreme Court, Herbert Joseph O'Brien, for forging and uttering, was granted 12 months' probation, and ordterctl to pay £5 costs. Robert Rutlcdge, charged with shooting with intent at his wife and with assaulting her, was found guilty on tho socond count only. Sentence was deferred till the morning. Arthur Ernest Eldrcd was convicted of breaking into the dwelling of George Sutherland, champion cyclist, 1 during November,' and stealing clothing and trophies valued at £40. He was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment. Thomas Joseph Walsh was charged with committing incest and' with indecently assaulting his daughter two and 'a-half years old. The evidence showed that tho child had contracted a disease from which the father was suffering. The Crown withdrew the charge of incest, and the jury acquitted accuscd on the charge of assault.
