(Per United Pwsas Association.) MASTJittTON, Fcnruary 14. Tlio eighteenth annual show of the Masterton A. and P. Association was opened to-day in fino weather. Tlio attondanoe is considered a record for Hie first day. Tlio entries (1164) show an increase of 22 compared with last year, and constitute a record for show held in the Wairarapa district. 'I ho slock on the wholo was in excellent condition. Outside districts were largely represented, and in nmny classes tJifj judges had the greatest difficulty in awarding prizes. Tl'.o Garfort memorial challenge cup, for most points in Not Zealand-bred; Southdowns (to ho won thrro times, the association also awarding a gold modal to each yca,r's winner), was won by Jas. Stuekev for the third time in succession. W. C. Buchanan won 13. W. Dorset's silver medal for most points in fat sheep. Tlio conr-ctitions resulted as follows;— Machiiio shearim.'. Arthur Brightwell; trotting horse, W. Cooper's Glenwood; pony jumping, Wm. 'Rayner's Black Bov: maiden jumping W. Howard Booth's Robin; mounted infantry competition, Sergeant B. M'Corijiick's section (Hawke's Bay M.R.); hunters' leaping, W. D. Watson's No Hope.
