PERSONAL NOTES.

The Hon. F, H. Fraser, M.L.C., of Wellington, arrived in Duncdin last night from the north.

Hi , B. M'Kenzie, M.H.E. for Motuoka, is at present on. a visit to DunecKn. A Chriatcluurch telegram states that Dr W. B. Gow, of the Mount View Hospital, Wellington, lias been appointed to succeed Dr Lcvinge in charge of the Sunnyside Asylum. Dr Crosby, at present assisting at Sunnysidc, will probably Ix> given ohargo of the Mount View Hospital. The Rev. Sraue) Bailey, who for the past three yesirs has been pastor of the Sydney Street Primitive Methodist Church, Y/ellington, hns received and accepted a call to the Dunedin Primitive Methodist station as second minister, -wiiera ho hopc3 to commence his ministry on 'Sunday, the 12th March.

The Hon. W. Hall-Jones left Christchwch for Tiniani by the first express yesterday. He leases Tiniaru for Dunedia to-night. Mr E.Stratfon, of Dimedin, has been appointed judge of .the ivaHz and march competition at Livercargill on. May 3. i Seven bands, including Balclutha, have entered up to the present.

Mr Charles Watt, who for nearly seven years was Minuter at the Tabernacle, King, street, ia now spending a. week or two in this city atfending a conference with the Baptist body. Mr C, Bclwortby, for many years stationmaster at Pclichet - Bay, left this aiternoon to take up bis new duties at Lawrence, whither he has been transferred. During the time Mr Belworthy has been at Pelichet Bay be has, by his obliging manner and courtesy, earned the respect of. the residents of the neighbourhood and those whose business brought them into rejation ivith him, and ho leaves for his new sphere with the best wishes of a large circle of friends.
