D.A.B.C. Tlio heals anil semi-final of the Dunedin Amateur Boating Club's Hyam's Fours wore- rowed off last week, and produced some really good racing. In the first round Garden had an easy win over M'Loan, while Dowland and Colgan had a hard " go " in their heat, both, crews racing well together until a couple of hundred yards from home. Hero Dowtad gained a lead, and, although Colgan tried his hardest to regain t-ho lost ground, training told, and the former won by a length. The next heat saw Stabb and Camp race the starter, and a great race .was being witnessed when Camp unfortunately met with an accident, which compelled him to retfro and let Stabb finish on his own. Stabb generously offered to re-row the race, but Camp in a true sportsmanlike manner agreed io lot it remain as it was, thus showing the good feeling that existed between the crews. In the semi-final Garden'had a bye, and Dowland met StabH. These two crews raced well together for the greater part of the way, but towards the finish condition again told, and DowlancFs training secured him another win by a couple of lengths. In the final, which was rowed last night, Dowland and Garden tried conclusions, and a great race was witnessed, both crews going all they knew, neither gaining any advantage until near the finish, when Dowland shot out, and gained a lead. Garden made a determined effort to pass him, but without success, and Dowiand won by t> length and a-half. In the first round Garden and , Stnbb each had to row without his proper number three, the members taking 'this seat giving it back to the right man in the succeeding heats.
