.' AUCKLAND, March 22. The feeling. in- favour of establishing a Greater Auckland, to include the adjacent boroughs, is evidently growing. When a largo deputation of tho ratepayers of Groy Lynn waited upon. Mr .T. W. ShackeJford last night to ask Sim to stand for Mayor, he consented conditionally upon tho deputation, in the event of his election, agreeing to assist in klngirtff thii borough inte the city of AucitlamL .The various members of the deputation expressed themselves as strongly in favour of joining the city. Mr Shackolford having just returned from the south, is strongly impressed with tho advisability of abolishing smaller local bodies and forming one big corporation.
