MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Monday, Septijmbeb 1. (Befofe Mr E. H. C&rew, S.M.) Ahlfeld Bros. v. Frederick Clsmens (Waihi).— ■ Claim £'i Mβ 3d, for goods sold and delivered.— * Mr Sim appeared for plaintiffs.—Judgment was • given for the amount claimed, with costs (11s). James Hughes v. Thomas ltupert- Carroll (Otamita-).—Claim £19 10s, balance of wagesdue.—Mr E-rnslie appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr D. D. Macdonald for the defendant.— The statement of claim was to the effect that about February 17 {he defendant through his agents, Skene and Son, engaged the plaintiff to work for him at the rate of 30s a week. The i plaintiff entered into defendant's employment I and remained there 23 weeks. Defendant then paid plaintiff £15 on account of his wages, wherefore the latter sued for the balance still ; due.—After hearing evidence his Worship gave judgment for plaintiff fer payment.at the rote of 25b a wSek, amounting to J313 15s, with costs . (£2 15a. 6d).
