CITY POLICE COURT.
Monday, September. 1. (Before Mr C. C. Graham, S.M.) Drunkenness.—James Home, against whom Hiere wore previous convictions, and who had been remanded some days ago for medical treatment, wns charged with having been drunk in King street on August 25.—He pleaded " JS r ot guilty."—Sergea.nt Gilbert gave evidence to the effejfc that he hhd found the accused on the date in question trying " to swim on the footpath. "—Evidence as to accused's condition waa also given by Constable Marshall and the gaoler.—The Magistrate inflicted :i line of 10s, and costs for medical attendance, etc. (£1 2s Cd), iri default seven days' impris6nment. Time was given for payment of the fine. By-law Cases.—Robert Warrington admitted having allowed horses to wander at large in Maryhill terrace, Morniugton, but pleaded that it wa,s owing to an inadvertence, his son having let the anhnnls out on the way to the paddock, and returned to the house for something, leaving the horses to go on.-He was fined 10s, and costs (7s).— —James Kyle, for having driven a horse and cart along Princes street between sunset and sunrise without t>, light attached to tho vehicle, was finrd Is, and costs (7s).
