Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations, as under: —

Late letters, ]0.d5; also on the mail van up to ]1 a.m. Bonlts and newspapers, 10 a.m. Late-fee letterH must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage—ld for inland letters. 9d for letters for Australia and the South. Sea Mauds, and 2?, d for all other places. MONDAY, DECEMBER 24. For Australian Colonies (via Hobart), India, China, Straits Settlements, South Africa, Mauritius, Mediterranean ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc., per south express, to connect with the Wnikare at the Bluff at 8 a.m. Due in London February 3. Correspondence for the United Kingdom to be specially addressed via Melbourne. Parcels for Australia will close at 3 p.m. on the 22nd. Money Orders at 1 p.m. on the 22nd. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE. For Northern Ports of New Zealandi Samoa, Sandwich Islands, Japan, Philippine Islands, United States of America, Canada, South America, AVest Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 10 a.m. Money orders at 1 p.m. on the 22nd, registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on the 22nd. Book packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. The above mail will close at the bran nil Post Offices, North Dunedin and South Dunedin, for money orders and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 22nd, letters at 9.30 a.m., and newspapers at S a.m.' on the 21th. At the Port Chalmers office at 8.45 a.m. on the 24th; money orders at i p.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 22nd. The above'mail will be due in London on the 26th January. Parcels for United States and Canada will close at 9.30 a.m. on the 22nd. _ For Australian Colonies, India, China, btraita Settlements, South Africa, Mauritius Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc. Abo, Canada, United States of America, West Indies, Hawaiian Islands, to connect with the Vancouver steamer from Sydney, per Mokoia at 3.30 p.m.
