The Union Bank balance sheet shows a profit of £67,277. The deposits amount to £14,435,717, the advances and bills amount to £13,623,597, and cash and securities to £5,050,039.
MELBOURNE, January 23. (Received Jan. 23, at 9.25 a.m.)
The of&cial liquidator of the Standard Bank of Australia reports that in August last, when the liquidation order was made against the company formed to take over the old company the position of the latter company, exclusive of capital, was: Liabilities, £782,000; assets, £104,000. The deficiency was largely represented by bad debts.
