Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, BRISBANE, January 23. (Received Jan. 23, at 9.30 a.m.)
The magisterial inquiry into the Gatton minders will be commenced to-morrow. The police have already taken over 3000 statements in connection with the case.
It is reported that an empty cartridge, similar to that found at Gattou, has bsen discovered near the scene of the Oxley murder.
(Received Jan. 23, at 10.50 p.m.) The latest police theory is that after the Gatton murder was committed one of the perpetrators increased his immunity from arrest by shooting his accomplice. The blacktrackers are vigorously searching fer'a body.
The police authoritatively deny that Michael Murplry was mutilated.
