THE OTAGO CENTRAL RAILWAY AND MR MORRISON, M.H.R.
TO THB EDITOB. Sib, —I have read Mr Jolly's letter re the above, and to satisfy myself have turned up the pages of Hansard on the debate ou this questiou, and would refer you or Mr Jolly to No. 12, July 31, where Mr Morrison takes a proper utand on this question in language both clear and emphatic both as regards the Government aud the league — language I quite endorse though no supporter of the Government. It must be obvious to anyone that less nagging on the part of the league would have served their interests and that of the public batter. It is not by irritating the Government and wasting the time of the House that any good arises, and our member (Mr Earnshaw), I am sorry to say, appears to have lent himself persistently to this course. Mr Earnshaw had my vote and that of my family at the last election, but his conduct during the past session has shaken my wavering confidence in his political consistency.—l am, Ac, Dunedin, March 7.
