At the Wesleyan Conference business was rammed in representative session at 10.50 a.m. Tho report of tbo committee appointed to deal with the statutes necessary in connection with Methodist union was read as follows by Mi Stephens :—

I. A draft containing the heads of the proponed statute has been prepared, and Is attached hereto. 2. It in not practicable to insert any reference to Connexional fire insurance. 3. With regard to tiie question of incorporation, in view of all tho difficulties surrounding thu nuttoryour commlttecdo not recommend any steps to bs taken in that direction at prea«:rifc. Yonr committee rcduii,. mend that the draft cf the heads of the proposed statute be approved, and that it be remitted ro a committee to prepare a bill on the lines therein indicated, with power to m?.i;<anjr alterations or additions necessary fo: giving complete effwfc to tbe B3me, am! to aaree to any alterations or conditions irnpcss-il by Parliament, and to '.ake all tbe necwsitry «tep< for pausing tho same through Parliament; such committee to consist of tbe president, the P-evz. W. Morlay and Orchard, Messrs Thomas Saddle, J. A. Flenher, and J. C. Stephens. 5. Your committee also recommend the conference to affirm the principle that tbere should be one central custodian of deeds actios for the whole colony. •

On the motion of the Rev. H. Bull, it wan further resolved that the expenses connected with the bill above referred to he in the meantime paid irom the contingent fund.

Tho report was th»m adopted with unanimity. On the recommendation of the committee it was resolved, with reference to the will of the lata Allan Cameron Campbell—" That ths Wealeyan Methodist Conference resolves that it shall, and doth hereby, so far as it lawftdt? can or may, decline to accept and renounces all benefit under the s*id will, being desirous that the widow should obtain the benefits under the will."

The Rev. W. Lawry then moved—" That the question of constituting a separate district gynod for Maori work under the charge of a European chairman be remitted for consideration to the Home Mission Executive Committee to report to the District Synod of 1896." On being put to the vote' the motion was carried by 39 to 23.

The Rev. 3. 8. Rishworth was placed on the permanent supernumerary list.
