THE EIGHT TO EXPEL FROM A. THEATRE.

An action for assault in connection with Konnedy's exhibition of a man in a trance was heard in the Magistrate's Court today. The evidence showed that on Thursday and Friday Kennedy advertised admission by silver coin, and invited tbe public to come when they liked and to stay as long as they liked. The complainant paid a silver coin, but in five minutes was requested to leave, as two doctors were about to make an examination. Complainant refused to go, and was ejected from the building. The magistrate dismissed the case on the grounds that the law was to the effect that people attending racecourses and theatres, even if they paid for admission, were there only on sufferance, and could bo turned out at any time without their money being returned. In the present case ho unnecessary force was used. The defendant was refused costs. j '
