LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the.Land Board,.held on Wednesday afternooD, was attended by the chief commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland),' Messrs W. Dallas, H. Clark, J. Duncan, and A. M'Kerrow.

Wakatipu.— Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a plan showing proposed alterations in boundary of run No. 27, Wakatipu.—Received. Fokpeited Allotments. —The board decided to open as homestead allotments the following forfeited sections in the Maniototo district:— Section 11, block XVI, at lOd per acre, with £5 10s valuation; section 14, block XVI, at 9d per sere, with £714s valuation ; section 15, block XVI, at 9d per acre, no valuation ; section 16, at lOd per acre, with £4 19s valuation.

Maniototo. — The board was requested to authorise the receiver of land revenue to pay over tiie amount paid as valuation for improvements upon section 17, block XI, Maniototo—viz., £15 lis.— To be paid accordingly. Thikds and Fourths.—The- Lake County Council forwarded a statement- of proposed expenditure of thirds and fourths —Approved. Occupation Lease.—John Young applied for 60 acres in block VI, Tuapeka West district.— Granted at Gd par acre.

Grazing Licenses.—The following applications for grazing licenses were dealt with:—Three acres of reserve on east side of Beaumont bridge, adjoining block-XX, town of Dunkeld, granted to N. Dempsey at 5s an acre rental; about 14 acres of reserve fronting sections 22 to 25, block 111, Eeaumont district, granted to W. Cuinming at a rental of 2s 6d per acre; about 1_ acres on north side of Beaumont bridge, Dunkeld town, granted to John Johnstone at 10= per annum. Waitahuna West.—Hunger Hughan reported on an application by Thomas Eouuhan for a grazing right over section 17. block IX, Waitatuna West.—Declined.

Warkpa and Tuapeka.—lt was decided to notify and open at a capital value of 10s.the forfeited section 24, block IX, Warepa district; and also at a capital value'of 15< section 10, block XIV, Tuapeka West district: • Payment of Arrears.—The Receiver of Land Revenue reported that. Richard Wilson, whose small grazing, run lease was declared forfeited, had now paid arrears. tion, forfeiting section rescinded.

Lee Stream —Valuation of improvements upon Runs IS6 and 260b, Lee Stream, amouutiug iv all to £1246 3s, wis received from Ranger Hughan and approved. Akatore. —Thomas Rabbit applied for a portion of section 30, block VIII, Akatore district.— Referred to the ranger for a reporS. Blacks. — Ranger Fraser reported . calling a meeting at Blacks for the purpose of electing a committee to administer the Blacks commoDage,, ami that, the following were elected:—Johu Ward, Edward Lee, Nathan Peacock, Daniel f-tafford, and Thomas Taylor.—License to issue iv names mentioned.
